We believe that the book “Il Grande Viaggio nel Vino Italiano” by Slow Food Editore (The Great Journey through the Italian Wine) will represent a cornerstone in the big house of the wine narration. The annual visit to the farms has already been a revolution by the Slow Wine staff, but they wanted to paint more and more details on the Italian wine farms scenery.
Last summer we welcomed the “Linea Verde” team into our farm. The episode of the famous TV show about nature and agriculture, meant to highlight the importance of the safeguard and the farming of old varieties’ seeds, which are increasingly important at Agricola Cirelli. Domenico Francone showed Daniela Ferolla around our lands, running into the geese and the combine harvester in action. Using the ‘La Collina Biologica‘ brand, he is going on the market with his artisan pasta, made with Senatore Cappelli wheat and old spelt flours.
Agricola Cirelli joined the WWOOF Italia association (World-Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) and opened to the whole world the doors of Colle San Giovanni, a small hill close to the beautiful village of Atri (TE). Friends from all continents will now have the chance of sharing with us the organic farmer life experience, telling us their stories and hearing ours, in front of a steaming dish of spaghetti and a glass of good wine. Patrick and Ryan from California (USA) have been our first guests: here they are literally immerged into the grape harvest!
